Questions & Answers

Hello,

Were any of the Cat on a Hamper pieces made in Nile Green, or are all of those reproductions?

Mike
The possibility that a Cat on Hamper exists in Nile green is real. That would be an exceptionally ratre item.

Where were the toothpicks commemorating the bi centennial made? I have one in dark blue that my mother bought in Greentown.
It is difficult to say where they were made without seeing a photo. Keep in mind that moulds changed hands for these items also.

attached find a photo of a amber holly piece which I just purchased. I'd like to know if it was a compote or something else. It measures 7" tall. The larger section is 5" diameter with a flat top. Smaller section is 4 1/4" diameter and has beading on the
You have apparently hit the jackpot! This is an example of a compote made by joining a butter lid and a small jelly lid; it is the first such item like this that I have seen using a butter lid. There are examples of other lids being joined to form compotes, but I do not recall a butter lid being used this way. Congratulations!

I have a covered dish with a rabbit on top in opaque white. The dish is ribbed from bottom to top. It appears to be a Greentown type (muscular) rabbit, but I do not know if it is old or a reproduction. The rabbit is 4" long, the dish 5-1/2" from rim to
The IT&GW did not make an oval split rib base, so the chances are not good that your rabbit is a Greentown piece. I would encourage you to let an expert examine the item to be certain. Authenication by photos on-line is very risky - let an expert see it.

Pair of vases look like Greentown Glass. Is this the Cactus pattern? It looks similar but can't quite decide. Perhaps since the vases are so tall, the 'cactus' is elongated in a way that makes it appear a little different than other Cactus items? Than
Excellent example of a hard to find item in the Cactus pattern! Congratulations!

Do you have a way to recognize a donation, e.g., a memorium gift?
